…speaking of Channel 4 - they have the best broadcast design on the planet.
///DH: Just watched the latest episode of Channel 4’s “Misfits”. While the “delinquents with super-powers” premise is a bit silly, it’s refreshing to see a youth-orientated show that isn’t complete bullshit. Unlike the American networks, who sanitize youth-culture to a point of cartoonish idiocy, the Brits have the decency to recognize the existence of things like track-suits, dub-step, yayo and the word “twat”.

Slavoj Zizek on Hard Talk (BBC) 1/3
It looks like I’ll be on Al-Jazeera tomorrow talking about Black Friday/Buy Nothing Day. I’m wondering, would it be inappropriate if I wore a toque?
I’m digging “The Prisoner”, an AMC/ITV remake of the classic British spy-fi series. It’s like Lost, only, not completely meaningless.
Listening to the second episode of Bored to Death while I do work to see if it improves. Nope, it’s gotten worse. But they have managed to mention the Israeli military 3 times in 1.5 episodes, which is bizarre and alienating, but nonetheless impressive in its lack of relevance.
However, From what I gather, the producers of the show have a very precise demographic in their crosshairs: Pro-Israel, upper middle class, unmarried females aged 25-35 who want to know how men think in various relationship scenarios. BUT, not what they really think, what they want them to think.
